Testimonials
"I took Amanda's 8-week Path of a Yogi course to deepen my knowledge of yoga after many years of casual practice. The course challenged me - physically, emotionally and spiritually. Overall this was a fully positive experience and I strongly recommend it to others. There is nothing like a daily yoga practice. I loved the discipline of learning the Ashtanga primary series. I can honestly say that the experience changed my body, as I learned to release trauma long stored in my body. I can now find my way deeper into poses. I have a newfound love for Warrior I, Camel, and Flying Fish, not to mention Mountain. I learned that sitting still while focused on breath, chant, music, a flame, or scent can get me out of my head and help me fully experience a moment. And I cannot think of a better way to return to conscious thought than reflecting on the ethical system of yoga (yamas and niyamas). Our group conversations tended to be personal and illuminating. Being uncomfortable is required for learning. True confession: I did not immediately embrace inversions, but now I am a big fan of candlestick, shoulderstand, and headstand. Now, whenever I consciously assume positions other than sitting at my desk or couch, I lean in and try to fully explore the benefits of that posture. I am stronger than ever. Finally Amanda is an amazing teacher. As a former collegiate swimmer, she has an intuitive sense of how to bend, reach, and twist the human body with grace and strength. She is skilled at physical adjustments and helping her students find their way through their challenges. This community is so lucky to have her and her studio."

"I first started doing yoga when I was about 12 years old. My parents did it a couple times a week and sometimes I would join them. I always appreciated how grounded I felt after yoga. I also appreciated how connected I felt to my breath and the earth. When I met Amanda I couldn't believe that such an incredible teacher lived in Kirksville. During my time as a student athlete, I used yoga as a means of taking care of my tired body. I knew I wanted to dive deeper. After my soccer career ended I lost part of my identity. I felt lost. When Amanda approached me about her Path of a Yogi course i was excited to start a new journey. Little did I know that this course would alter the way I viewed the world, nature, and myself. With Amanda's guidance I have explored parts of myself that I didn't know existed. Amanda's Path of a Yogi course taught me to love deeper, laugh harder, and always do my best. I am so grateful for all I learned and I am so excited to keep learning more."

"As soon as I learned about the Path of a Yogi course, I knew it was something special I wanted to pursue. Having completed it, I am so glad I carved out time in my life to commit to the journey. Before beginning POY, I had a fairly steady yoga practice, where I learned primarily through my own reading and attending classes at local studios/gyms. I cannot stress enough how valuable it was to have a teacher like Amanda to guide me through the course, as well as to learn alongside other dedicated students in a positive environment. It is not just Amanda's impressive yoga background that makes her a great teacher; she is patient, open-minded, and thoughtful in her teaching, which creates a comfortable environment for physical and spiritual learning. I learned so much through POY, but it also taught me there is so much more to learn. The course itself is a gift that will keep on giving, and I am so excited to see where it will lead me next!."

"I can’t recommend Amanda enough! She is the most genuine and kind human. She is an excellent teacher and cares for you as a person. Teaching yoga is more than just a business to her. It’s her passion. I learned a TON about alignment, the history of yoga, different schools of thought, and also how to teach my students with kindness and awareness. This course is about more than just yoga. It is also a personal development course as well.’’
-Shelby Leppin
“I do not use the term ‘transformative’ lightly (or ever, really): but these were 10 weeks that changed my life – for the better. Not a small thing at age 55.’’
-Christine Harker

-Gigi Wahba
"I enjoyed the 10-week sessions of Yoga Teacher Training. While I do not teach yoga, these sessions helped me go deeper in my own practice, learning the principles of breath and movement, and connecting body, mind, and spirit through the practice of yoga."
